Rezdy’s Advice to Survive the Pandemic!

Time’s are tough at the moment. Borders have closed, countries have shut up shop and tourism has ground to a complete halt. There are murmurs of doors beginning to open in Australia, Germany, New Zealand etc but in the meantime, booking software and tourism industry experts Rezdy(opens in a new tab) have come up with some tips to help tour operators through this economic downturn.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

Many governments at the moment are offering financial support for tourism businesses during the pandemic. There is no shame in asking for help, especially in times of recessions. This support ranges from a general fund set up for small businesses(opens in a new tab) to tourism-specific funding(opens in a new tab). Check your local and national government pages or consult with your local and national associations to see what you may be eligible for.

Advertise locally

The phrase ‘travel bubble(opens in a new tab)’ is being thrown around lately. With the majority of borders continuing to stay firmly shut, domestic travel is predicted to return long before international. Begin to think of advertising avenues(opens in a new tab) you can take to target local/domestic travellers. One thing is for certain, if there will be no international travel – people will look at destinations closer to home!

Now is the time to hire

Sounds a bit crazy but workers who have recently been laid off may turn out to be an advantage for you. There will be a number of excellent people looking for work at the moment who have simply lost their jobs due to the current financial situation. These are hard-working people who any company would be lucky to have. Look for them and strengthen your team before everything returns back to normal!
